I know, I know, I need to find some new moves....
It was my oldest nephew's birthday yesterday - he turned 9! I can hardly believe it. I remember the day he was born, seems like yesterday. So while I sent a bouquet of yummy cookies to him yesterday (I hope you got them Ty), I also want to send a special birthday message to one of my favorite guys.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TY!
So the craziness is going to start in less than 24 hours. I generally think my life is pretty busy to begin with but going home for the holidays makes it even crazier. I try really hard not to complain about it because it's generally a "good" crazy I just never have enough time to sit down and catch up with people as I'd like.
So it's gonna go a little something like this:
12/21: Take the red eye home at 12:01am. Breakfast with Matt's parents. Take a nap (yeah right). Drop by our house to say "good-bye". Sell our house. Dinner with Matt and my parents and drinks with some friends.
12/22: Finish my shopping. Go to a wedding
12/23: Wedding brunch. Taylor Swedish Christmas Dinner (I'll defintely moblog this - wait till you see it). Vikes Game. Annual Friend's Christmas Party (not even sure if we'll make it to this one).
12/24-12/25: Christmas festivities that start with dinner at Matt's parent's, breakfast at my mom's, dinner party at my mom's and drinks with friends late in the evening.
12/26: Lunch with my college girlfriends. Dinner/Drinks with my high school girlfriends
12/27: Day with my nephews (still don't know what we'll do yet). Drinks with my college girlfriends.
12/28-12/29: Go to North Carolina for another wedding.
12/30: Get home from North Carolina and head up to the cabin for our annual New Year's Eve party.
12/31-1/1: New Year's at the Cabin.
1/2: Hang with the families and fly back to SF in the evening.
Yes, I've over-committed myself - so shoot me :)
My family goes through the rather silly tradition of everyone making up a x-mas list so we can buy presents for each other. It made sense when we were kids but it seems a little strange to do this now that we are all successful adults. But, it's tradition and I love x-mas so I am more than happy to play along.
I sent my list to my family tonight and it got me thinking about one of my favorite things to do when I go back to MN, see my "boys". These are some fun pics from one of the last times I was home and my bro and I took my nephews to the zoo for the day. As part of their x-mas gift, Matt and I take the kids for a day of fun. It's one of my favorite things to do over the holidays. Now that they are getting older, it's tougher to finds things that work for all ages.
Anyone have any good ideas for a day of fun with three crazy wacky boys??
What is your favorite dish on the Thanksgiving table?

Hands down - stuffing. But not any old stuffing, my mom's stuffing. This will be my second Thanksgiving away from home and I gotta tell ya, I miss the stuffing the most (and the loved ones of course!).
I got a turkey dinner from deli at Whole Foods on Sunday night and it was pretty good but the stuffing can't beat mom's. She makes it with some spice that gives it some zing. Soo yummy!
Dear Mom.
All I want for x-mas is some Thanksgiving stuffing. Oh, I've been craving your beer cheese soup too.
Love,
Joy
Well, for those of you who aren't aware, I am still trying to sell my house in Minneapolis. We've now decided to see if we can find someone to rent it.
Here is the Craig's list post. If you know of anyone that might be interested in a short-term lease - let me know. Don't let price be an issue, we'll consider other offers!
So I feel as though I must provide context. My friend Lisa got married this weekend. On Thursday night, we had the groom's dinner and then a bunch of us girls stayed at Lisa's hotel before the big day.
In this picture, Lisa is modeling a piece of used (yes I said used) lingerie that her mother-in-law (yes I said mother-in-law) gave her for her wedding night (yes I said wedding night). She only agreed to try it on if she could put in on over her clothes -we thought her Vox t-shirt was a nice touch :)
It's like they say - you can't pick your family...
