Or the closest I get to a summer vacation. Between a couple of work trips and a few hours of work each day, I did get some time to visit with my family and my friends. Minneapolis in June/July is perfect. The warm weather brings blue skies, green landscape and very happy people. Here's a scapbook of what Matt and I did. It was a ton of fun but as always, we never have enough time to spend with all of our loved ones back home. I've got a lot more fun photos that I'll post in the coming week(s).
Skiing at Matt's parent's cabin
Drinks on the rooftop of Brit's with my favorite girls
MN Zoo with the nephews and my brother, Rod
Dinner, bonfire and a few pre-4th of July sparklers at my parent's house
Boat Cruise on the St. Croix River with friends
Our last party at our house in Mpls (it's now for sale)
I got to visits friends and family over Easter weekend. Here's Ty and Nick showing you the before and after's of the chocolate Easter bunny. I brought these back from Moonstruck in SF, the yummiest chocolate store ever. They likely didn't appreciate the quality of the chocolate but oh well. That's what Aunt's do, right?
How many pets have you owned in your lifetime? Tell us about them.

I had one true pet in my life. Our family dog, Tango (aka Pookey - this is what I called her). She died a few years ago and it was extremely difficult for everyone in our family. Since we had never had a pet, we had no idea how hard it would be to lose one. Tango gave our family unconditional love. She'd sit at the front window watching you leave and be waiting there when you came home. Even when she got sick, she'd still find a way to get to the door to greet you.
Tango was quite possibly the sweetest dog ever, although I bet I am not the first one to say that about their dog. I'll add to my last QOTD and say Tango is definitely one of the things I am most grateful for in my life.
Alright, gotta go - getting weepy!
So my family is starting to enter the world of Vox. I am giving you links to their blogs (my brother and my dad) but I am warning you to read them at your own risk. You'll quickly see that we are all very distinct individuals in the Taylor household. It makes dinner conversations extremely interesting. I can't count the number of times we've stayed up discussing how we intend to change the world (wine in hand), scotch for Matty) until 3am in the morning. My mom is always good at trying to keep the peace :)
Now I've got to get my sister to start a blog so I can see pics of my crazy little nephews. I think my mom might be an easier sell...
I must say that I am thrilled to death that my family is taking an interest in what I am doing for a living. My various internet passions throughout my career have definitely kept them hopping.
But now that I've said that, I realize that I should mention the "love" I've gotten from my oldest and dearest friends from Mpls (and those orginally from Mpls but now living across the world. BTW: couldn't we have all agreed to move to the same place??) I am proud to say that nearly all of my closest friends are on Vox and using it religiously! Talk about support - can you feel the love? Or maybe they are doing it just to insure they always have a place to stay when they visit San Francisco!
